Asratyan, close to Charents and Bakunts, dared to protect his friends from Stalinist repressions, was not afraid to participate in the funeral of Komitas, praised Sergei Parajanov’s film at a closed screening, forced the British Museum to change the inscription to “Anahit Statue” and fought the Sotheby’s auction for unique Armenian instances. Morus Hasratyan not only translated Sayat-Nova, but also made the Armenianness undeniable, created the Erebuni-Yerevan festival named after Grigor Hasratyan and united the intellectuals of Soviet Armenia and the Diaspora.
Aelita Dolukhanyan (born 1942) – Literary critic, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, Honored Worker of Culture, Member of the Union of Writers of Armenia in 1969-90. Associate Professor of the Department of Armenian Literature of the Armenian State Pedagogical Institute named after A. Abovyan, since 1990 Professor, Head of the Department of Armenian Literature and Teaching Methods. He is a member of the Specialized Council of the Literary Institute of the National Academy of Sciences, a member of the Management Council of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia, a member of the Committee on Awards of the President of the Republic of Armenia. Dolukhanyan's literary articles were published in Russian, French, Polish and English. Published a 6-volume series "European Armenologists". Performed translations from Russian, English, French.
